Trust & Transparency

How GEMflush handles data, publishing, and accountability.

Last updated: January 20, 2026

At a Glance

  • What GEMflush does: GEMflush publishes and monitors structured business entity data to public knowledge graphs, helping AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) discover accurate business information.
  • Independent oversight: Public knowledge graphs are independently edited and community-moderated. GEMflush does not control external platforms; submissions must remain neutral and verifiable.
  • What gets published: Factual business identity signals you provide—name, address, website, phone, service category, hours, geographic coordinates, and related structured data (no marketing copy).
  • No guarantees: Because public knowledge graphs are community-governed, inclusion, retention, and exact phrasing are not guaranteed. Items and statements can be revised, merged, or removed based on policy and sourcing.
  • Public persistence: Once published to public knowledge graphs, data is publicly accessible and may persist even if you delete your GEMflush account.
  • Corrections: GEMflush supports updates and corrections to published data and participates in standard platform processes (talk pages / dispute resolution) when needed. Complete deletion may not be possible.

What We Do

GEMflush is a Generative Engine Marketing platform that uses systematic knowledge graph engineering to improve your business's discoverability in AI-powered search systems. We structure your business information into entity data with 11+ properties (name, address, services, phone, hours, website, geographic coordinates, etc.) and publish this data to public knowledge graph infrastructure.

Our approach is based on research-backed methodologies, including Princeton GEO research on structured entities in LLM responses. For detailed technical information about our methodology, see our Knowledge Graph Engineering Methodology page.

What Data We Publish

We publish structured business entity data that you provide or authorize us to collect. This typically includes:

  • Business name and legal entity information
  • Physical address and geographic coordinates
  • Website URL and contact information
  • Phone number and business hours
  • Service category and industry classifications
  • Other factual business information relevant to knowledge graph representation

Important: We only publish information that you explicitly provide or authorize us to collect. We do not publish marketing claims, financial data, or sensitive personal information. We focus on factual identity and location signals required for knowledge graph representation.

All publishing is driven by user-provided or user-authorized data. You maintain control over what information is submitted for publication.

How We Publish Responsibly for Local SMBs

Most GEMflush customers are local small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs)—including medical clinics, law firms, real estate agencies, and marketing agencies. Because local businesses often have limited press coverage, we prioritize verifiable identity signals over promotional content.

When available, GEMflush prioritizes reputable third-party and government sources to support key facts (industry and location, identifiers, and official website). Examples include:

  • Medical clinics: NPI Registry, state licensing/medical board listings, government provider directories
  • Law firms: state bar profiles/registries, state court or licensing listings, official firm website
  • Real estate agencies: state real estate commission/licensing registries, public association directories (where available), official brokerage website
  • Marketing agencies & other SMBs: state business registries, professional association listings (when applicable), and other reputable third-party business profiles

If strong independent sourcing is not available for a business, GEMflush may recommend delaying publication and focusing on improving the underlying public record first (registrations, licensing profiles, and authoritative listings).

Authorization & Accuracy

Your responsibility: By submitting business information for publication, you represent that:

  • You have the legal right and authority to publish this information
  • You own or have permission to represent the business entity
  • The information is accurate and current to the best of your knowledge
  • You understand that published data becomes part of public knowledge graphs

We encourage accuracy and provide mechanisms for corrections. If you discover errors in published data, you can request updates through your account dashboard or by contacting us. We will process correction requests promptly, though changes to public knowledge graphs may take time to propagate.

For urgent corrections or to report unauthorized publication, please contact us immediately.

Public Knowledge Graphs Are Not Private

When we publish your business information to public knowledge graphs, that information becomes part of the public domain. This means:

  • The data is publicly accessible and queryable by anyone
  • AI systems, search engines, and other services may use this data in their responses and recommendations
  • Third parties may copy, reuse, or redistribute the data in accordance with the knowledge graph platform's terms
  • Once published, complete removal may not be possible, even if you delete your GEMflush account
  • Because these platforms are community-governed, statements may be revised, merged, or removed over time

This is by design—public knowledge graphs are intended to be persistent, authoritative sources of structured information. The benefit is that your business becomes discoverable by AI systems that rely on these knowledge sources. The trade-off is that published data becomes part of the public record.

Before publishing, please ensure you are comfortable with this level of public exposure. If you have concerns about specific data points, you can choose not to include them in your submission.

Security & Data Handling

We take data security seriously. Here's how we handle your information:

  • Encryption: Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS). Data at rest is encrypted using secure storage practices.
  • Access controls: Only authorized systems and processes can access your account data. We use secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Payment processing: Payment information is processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We do not store complete payment card information on our servers.
  • Regular updates: We maintain and update published knowledge graph data on a regular schedule to ensure accuracy and freshness.

For detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please review our Privacy Policy. For terms of service and acceptable use, see our Terms of Service.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to maintaining high standards and promptly addressing any security concerns.

Accountability & How to Reach Us

We are committed to transparency and accountability. If you have questions, concerns, or need to report an issue:

  • General inquiries: Visit our Contact page for support and questions
  • Corrections: Use your account dashboard to request updates to published data, or contact us directly for urgent corrections
  • Report issues: If you discover unauthorized publication, data errors, or security concerns, please contact us immediately

We aim to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours during business days. For urgent matters affecting data accuracy or security, we prioritize rapid response.

Our commitment is to operate with transparency, accuracy, and accountability. If you believe we have not met these standards, please let us know so we can address your concerns.
