US Real Estate Companies in Wikidata by State (2026)

If your agency isn't in the knowledge graph, you're not in the answer. When buyers and sellers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a realtor or real estate agency in their area, those assistants query Wikidata and other structured knowledge graphs—they don't crawl every website. Right now, only a handful of US real estate companies (with an official website) appear there. This post uses live data to show exactly how many are in Wikidata nationally and by state—and how you can be one of them.

The breakthrough for "realtors in ChatGPT" isn't more monitoring—it's getting into the graph: publishing your agency with location, service areas, and contact details so AI can recommend you. Below we share the numbers; at the end, how to close the gap.

National totals

  • US real estate companies in Wikidata (with official website): 52
  • US real estate companies in Wikidata (total): 56
  • Global real estate companies with website: 231

By state

State-level counts depend on entities having located in (P131) set to a US state. When we run the coverage script, any state with at least one real estate company (with website) in Wikidata appears in the report. If the state table is empty or sparse, it means most US real estate entities in Wikidata do not yet have state-level location—so national totals tell the story: very few real estate companies are in the graph.

Run the script and check reports/wikidata-real-estate-coverage.json for the latest byState array when you refresh the data.

What this means for you

  • Tiny slice: With only 52 US real estate companies (with website) in Wikidata, the gap is enormous. The agencies that get into the knowledge graph with location and service area are the ones AI can recommend.
  • Realtors in ChatGPT: Visibility in AI assistants starts with being in Wikidata. Publishing your agency with proper location (state, city) and details is what gets you recommended when people ask for a realtor or real estate agency.
  • For agencies: These numbers are pitch-ready. "Almost no US real estate companies are in the knowledge graph. We can get your client listed and visible when buyers and sellers ask AI for an agent."

The GEO approach that actually creates visibility

Most "AI visibility" or GEO tools only track whether you appear in ChatGPT or Perplexity. They don't add you to the source. GEMflush takes the opposite approach: we publish your real estate agency to Wikidata—the same knowledge graph those assistants query—with 11+ structured properties (name, address, service area, website, contact, and more). Monthly updates keep your listing current. Once you're in the graph, you're in the pool of agencies AI can recommend. That's knowledge graph engineering for GEO: fix the source, not just the dashboard.

Methodology

  • Real estate company: instance of real estate company (Q1660104).
  • US: country = United States (P17=Q30).
  • With website: has official website (P856).
  • State: P131 to state of the United States (Q35657).

Data as of March 2026. Numbers from SPARQL queries against the public Wikidata Query Service. Run pnpm tsx scripts/wikidata-real-estate-coverage-stats.ts to refresh.
